Kristy Johnston has been a leader in educational program development for 25 years with a broad background in psychology, social work and education and training and expertise in Interprofessional programing. As the leader of University of Kansas interprofessional center, I've brought together diverse teams of professionals to build a nationally recognized program, directing interprofessional grants from private institutions, HRSA, Reynolds and Macy granting organizations. I believe strong teaming, communication and collaboration skills are keys to changing the quality of healthcare for individuals and communities.

Lightning Talk Description: Interprofessional researchers are working steadily to advance evidence linking the impact of interprofessional education (IPE) on collaborative, person-centered, clinical practice and the ways practice needs shape health professions education requirements. Studies with single university alumni find that graduates who participated in campus-based IPE recognize that their collaborative academic experiences shaped what they looked for, expected, and practiced in their workplaces (Shrader, et al, 2022; Crampsey, et al, 2023).
