Cara Maffini is an Associate Professor of Child and Adolescent Development in the Lurie College of Education at San Jose State University. She has expertise in counseling psychology, trauma-informed care, and culturally-responsive approaches to healing and healthy development. Her research encompasses intersections of culture, mental health, and trauma among adolescents and emerging adults with a focus on underserved populations. She is a co-founder and faculty director of the Healthy Development Community Clinic (HDCC).

Poster Description: This presentation describes the background and launch of San José State University’s Healthy Development Community Clinic (HDCC), founded in 2019. The HDCC seeks to promote equity through holistic wellness for children, youth, and families.
