Dr. April D. Newton, PT, DPT, PhD, FNAP, is the Director of Interprofessional Practice Development at Indiana University's Interprofessioanl Practice & Education Center. She is an assistant professor of clinical family medicine in the IU School of Medicine and the department of physical therapy. In addition to her academic and precepting responsibilities, Dr. Newton’s roles include developing and integrating interprofessional education and collaborative practice curricula. She also provides oversight and direction to collaborative care clinics at the IU Health Central Indianapolis Family Medicine Residency Clinic and is a clinical advisor for the Well Child and Oral Health Clinic and the Indiana University Student Outreach Clinic.
