Dr. Silva-Smith is a nurse practitioner, nurse researcher, and the Carole Schoffstall Endowed Professor in the Helen and Arthur E. Johnson Beth-El College of Nursing and Health Sciences. Dr. Silva-Smith’s research focuses on stroke prevention and development of interventions to promote sustained physical activity after stroke. She is a Fellow of the Gerontological Society of America and was a Fulbright Research Scholar to the United Kingdom in 2022 where she studied the experience of exercise after a stroke.
