William Mitch Melito is a third-year student at the School of Medicine at Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center in New Orleans. Prior to his acceptance to medical school, he attended LSU and majored in biological sciences. At LSU, William was a university medalist and graduated Summa cum laude. In medical school, William has lead leadership roles in anatomy dissection lab, Aesculapian society, and multiple research projects involving interprofessional education. William is applying to general surgery and plans to practice in Louisiana, where he has lived his entire life.

Interprofessional Student Poster Description: Background: Interprofessional Education (IPE) is resource intensive. Based upon institutional resources, IPE can be challenging to develop, implement, and assess. To address these issues, the Louisiana Interprofessional Consortium held a statewide IPE event. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the event to identify its strengths and weaknesses for future IPE events.
