For my 20-year career, I have served in education for current and future health care professionals.
Since 2006, 100 percent of my effort has been dedicated to oversight of operations, education, and research in
medical simulation. Our UAMS Center serves academic colleges and the medical center and delivers
outreach education across Arkansas. Under my leadership, we established innovative operations, with stateof-the-art of simulation technology and an empowered simulation staff team. My responsibilities include collaborating with the faculty to develop, conduct, and evaluate simulation, using simulation for systems integration, research, faculty development, and to conduct simulation at regional continuing education
conferences.

Lightning Talk Description: Interprofessional healthcare providers’ understanding of health literacy is crucial to improve patient health and reduce disparities. Our report addresses a key issue in health equity, providing effective interprofessional education on health literacy.
