Dr. Tiffany Champagne-Langabeer is an Associate Professor at the School of Biomedical Informatics. Dr. Champagne-Langabeer is the co-investigator of the Houston Emergency Opioid Engagement System (HEROES), a national clinical trial providing comprehensive treatment for individuals suffering from opioid use disorder. The program is a collaborative partnership with the Houston Fire Department, Houston Police Department, Houston Recovery Center, and the Memorial Hermann Hospital. Dr. Champagne-Langabeer focuses on health policy and informatics components of the program. Champagne-Langabeer is a member of the American Medical Informatics Association, the American College of Healthcare Executives, and the Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society.

Lightning Talk Description: Our Lightning talk will describe how health disparities and social determinants of health in underserved and marginalized populations in Texas can be addressed through telehealth by a group of interprofessional students.
