Tara has over 20 years of experience caring for acutely ill children in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) at the Children's Hospital of Illinois. Tara is dual certified in both primary- and acute-care pediatrics, and has served as the Advanced Practice Supervisor for the PICU since 2015, and PICU APP Fellowship Supervisor since 2017. Additionally, Tara has a long-standing passion for education and simulation, with 15 years of experience in simulation facilitation for acute care pediatrics. She is active in research and has presented countless times at pediatric conferences to share her expertise on pediatric critical care.

Lightning Talk Description: A large, system-based, accredited transition-to-practice program for Advanced Practice Registered Nurses (APRNs) and Physician Assistants (Pas), known as the Advanced Practice Provider (APP) fellowship, expanded the program into the pediatric intensive care unit (PICU) of the Children’s Hospital in late 2022.
