Dr. Cole is the Co-Director for Vanderbilt's Program for Interprofessional Learning (VPIL). She has been a Family Nurse Practitioner for 29 years and faculty member at Vanderbilt for 24 years. Her specialty interests are IPE, Pediatrics and Women's Health. She is on the Board of Directors for the Tennessee Practice and Education Consortium (TIPEC) and is responsible for curriculum development for the Nashville Interprofessional Consortium (NIC). She also serves as a consultant for Integrative Health Centers (IHC), an organization the partners with primary care clinics to offer psychiatric , addiction and behavioral health care.
