Sarah H. Ailey PhD RN FAAN is a Professor of Nursing at Rush University in Chicago, IL. She is the mother of a middle-aged son who has intellectual disabilities and her professional work is linked to lived experiences. She is the Principal Investigator for the PATH-PWIDD (Partnering to Transform Health Outcomes with Persons with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities) Program (, funded through a 5-year grant from the Administration for Community Living. Poster Description: Background: The Partnering to Transform Health Outcomes with Persons with Intellectual Disabilities (PATH-PWIDD) Program, funded by the Administration for Community Living, is a workforce development program aimed at improving the education of healthcare professional students in the health of persons with IDD through implementation of interprofessional curricular materials and practice experiences at our five core partner institutions.
