Ruthanne is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin School of Veterinary Medicine. She completed a rotating small animal internship at Cornell University and a comparative oncology residency at Purdue University. Throughout her career she has been interested in how health professionals learn and work together and she is grateful to be part of an interprofessional team at UW-Madison.

To address the complex health needs of the population, interprofessional education (IPE) is necessary to help students develop competencies for interprofessional collaborative practice, including interprofessional communication. Lightning Talk Description: This Lightning Talk will share relevant aspects learned by students after participating in the Interprofessional Communication Competency Module (ICCM) offered by the University of Wisconsin Center for Interprofessional Practice and Education (UW CIPE).
