Patricia A. Cuff, Ed.D., M.S., M.P.H. is Senior Program Officer for the Board on Global Health at the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine where she directs the Global Forum on Innovation in Health Professional Education. A position she has held since 2012. Patricia has directed and co-directed multiple studies at the National Academies including Options for Overseas Placement of U.S. Health Professionals, and Enhancing the Behavioral and Social Science Content of Medical School Curricula. She also led studies on developing a framework for educating health professionals to address the social determinants of health and on measuring the impact of interprofessional education on collaborative practice and patient outcomes. Patricia is currently co-leading an FDA-funded study exploring recommendations for avoiding another infant formula shortage in the US. She is disseminating the FDA-funded study looking at mutual recognition agreements in the regulation of medicines, and she worked on special COVID-related projects with select academies in Africa during the pandemic. Prior to directing the forum, Patricia spent 10 years as the Country Liaison to the Uganda National Academy of Sciences on the African Science Academies capacity-building project.
