Dr. Michael Kim obtained his M.D. and specialty training in Internal Medicine-Pediatrics at the University of Minnesota. After completing his Pediatric Chief Residency, he joined the faculty as the University’s first full-time Med-Peds hospitalist. He became the Assistant Dean for Student Affairs in 2015 while continuing to practice hospitalist medicine. In his role in Student Affairs, he advocates for and promotes student academic success, a culture of wellbeing, and a supportive learning environment. His current areas of research include the academic progress of medical students with disabilities and supporting the mental health and wellbeing of all medical students.
