Madeline Neal is the Director of Special Programs for the Office of Interprofessional Education and Practice. Madeline came to the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with a background in nutrition and community nutrition educator for Family Partners In Health, a NIH funded research project to reduce chronic disease in rural NC. Discovering a talent for managing complex situations with many variables, Madeline moved into project management. She now has over a decade of experience putting her skills as a “conductor” and “people person” to work helping to manage interprofessional teams and plan events for student engagement.

Lightning Talk Description: This interactive interprofessional activity demonstrates how health professionals work cooperatively to treat patients with a traumatic brain injury (TBI); helping students to understand a patient's journey from the moment of injury through the continuum of in-patient and outpatient care. Students from Athletic Training, Clinical Rehabilitation and Mental Health Counseling, Dentistry, Education, Exercise Sports Science, Medicine, Nursing, and Speech and Hearing Sciences participated.
