Krystal Pendergraft-Horne has been a Registered Nurse for over 13 years, she is a Family Nurse Practitioner, and she recently completed her Doctorate in Nursing Practice with a concentration in Leadership in July 2023. Her research focuses on Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) and identifying and supporting those with lived experience of mental illness living in rural community settings. She currently teaches in the undergraduate program at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and has been teaching students in traditional and accelerated cohorts since 2021 in both the didactic and clinical settings for Adult Health 1 and Adult Health 2.
