Kristen Sterba, Ph.D.

Kristen Sterba has been working in higher education for 20 years with experience in admissions, recruitment, policy, institutional research, accreditation, grants, and student services. Kristen currently serves as Associate Provost for Students and Administration at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences. She oversees the Departments of Enrollment Services, Institutional Research, Policy and Accreditation, Campus Life, and Title IX/ADA accommodations and has been involved with Interprofessional education at UAMS since it was implemented. Kristen has a Ph.D. in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology.

Quality Improvement (QI) principles apply across health professions, yet curriculum is often limited prior to post-graduate training. A QI learning activity was adopted in a campus-wide IPE curriculum. This supports The Classroom and Beyond theme by introducing health system and workflow improvement processes applying across practice sites. Interprofessional teams of 6-10 respond to a ‘Call for Proposals’ from institutional, community, or state partners targeting the Quadruple Aim.
