Dr. Parke has been faculty at UT Health San Antonio School of Nursing (SoN) since 2013 and is currently the Pediatric Nurse Practitioner Course Track Coordinator at UT Health SoN and the Co-Director of the Doctor of Nursing Practice Program. Her teaching focuses on providing experiential learning and preparing students to work in interprofessional teams. Working with the campus “Linking Interprofessional Networks for Collaboration” (LINC), she has collaborated in the creation of a project to provide an interactive case-based interprofessional simulation that was delivered to almost 800 students

Background: As the US population ages, many older adults with dementia rely on family caregivers for health-related care and daily activities. Issues associated with caregiver burden in this setting are well-documented, including caregivers’ diminished quality of life and health.
