Katherine Daly, PhD is a licensed psychologist who serves as Director of Counseling & Wellness Services and Associate Professor in the Department of Clinical Sciences at UCF College of Medicine since 2016. She designs and delivers novel wellness interventions geared toward reducing burnout, depression, and anxiety in medical learners. Example novel programs include: 1) a community garden offering “Mindful Mondays” as well as culinary medicine outreaches; 2) a sleep hygiene program (in collaboration with Student Health, two energy “napping” pods were installed to support strategic napping); and a Peer Support Program which annually trains 25+ medical students to serve as ambassadors of wellness. In addition, Dr. Daly has a sustained record of peer-reviewed scholarship in the area of medical student wellness and she served as one of the appointed regional representatives for the AAMC working group on wellness from 2020-2023.
