Jennifer Feirstein is an Assistant Professor and the Director of Didactic Education at the Physician Assistant (PA) program within the Creighton University School of Medicine on the Phoenix Health Sciences Campus. Her research interests include professional identity formation in medical and PA education, interprofessional education, and student and PA leadership. Jennifer obtained her Bachelor of Science in Health Sciences with an emphasis in Physiological Sciences from the University of Arizona, her Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies from Arcadia University and is currently completing her Doctor of Education in Leadership and Innovation from Arizona State University.

Lightning Talk Description: The current complicated health care landscape is fueling innovation in interprofessional education (IPE) to prepare future generations of health professionals for collaborative practice (CP) that is agile and adaptive. Interprofessional socialization and mentorship in communication and teamwork can improve learners’ capacity to address gaps in CP as they enter the workforce to improve patient outcomes together.
