Jen Braun is a Director at the American Hospital Association (AHA) and leads AHA Team Training and the AHA Next Generation Leaders Fellowship. In her role, she manages the organization’s strategic efforts to support the hospital workforce by leading large national implementation programs, focused advisory services and high impact educational events. All are aimed at helping teams and leaders foster ownership to improve processes and outcomes while building capacity and resiliency. Through AHA Team Training which includes the AHA’s national work in TeamSTEPPS, Jen has worked with hundreds of teams and organizations to help build ownership in their TeamSTEPPS programs. Jen leads strategic oversight and direction for the AHA Next Generation Leaders Fellowship, a nationally recognized yearlong leadership program equipping high impact leaders with the knowledge, skills, and network needed to lead hospitals and health systems into the next decade and beyond. Jen completed her Master of Public Health from the University of Iowa.

In the NCICLE Pathways to Excellence, the National Collaborative for Improving the Clinical Learning Environment (NCICLE) notes optimal clinical learning environments (CLEs) are ones that support high-performance teaming. Yet there are many ways in which CLEs operationalize their approach to teaming. This session will preview several successful approaches identified through the recent NCICLE Teaming Resources Challenge.
