Hannah is a second year Occupational Therapy student at The University of New England that began helping create harm reduction kits for the Cumberland County Jail in Portland, Maine in November of 2021. She began this project in her undergraduate studies at the University of New England and continued it through graduate school. She has been involved in multiple events involving the Maine Department of Corrections (DOC) such as putting harm reduction kits together and meeting with members of Maine DOC for a "lunch and learn."

Interprofessional Student Poster Description: Basic needs that residents reentering the community require are overlooked. Cumberland County Jail (CCJ) provides individuals reentering with the same items that they had on them upon their arrival. Residents reenter the community without the resources they need to support their overall wellbeing. Given the high rates of individuals reentering with SUD, providing individuals with lifesaving materials is exigent.
