Hanlie Pitout is an occupational therapy lecturer at Sefako Makgatho Health Sciences University, South
Africa and a practicing clinician. She is the unofficial coordinator of the IPECP
program at her university and has developed the IPECP curriculum from grassroots level. Hanlie has
presented on the IPECP program both nationally and internationally. Her passion is to improve the
quality of health care nationwide and to impact students’ appreciation of their role in improving
collaborative team work.

Lightning Talk Description: Healthcare professionals require knowledge and skills to work collaboratively with diverse populations with multiple health care professionals and service delivery systems across the continuum of care in a variety of settings (community, emergency department, inpatient, and outpatient primary care).
