Diane Ferguson, BSN, RN, is the Director of the HEB Clinical Skills Center at the University of Texas Health Science Center San Antonio (UTHSCSA). The Center focuses primarily on Simulated/Standardized Patient (SP) simulation. Diane has been in SP education since 1995. She served many years on the Board of Directors for the Association of SP Educators (ASPE). Diane is a member of the LINC Simulation IPE Initiative representing the Long School of Medicine and simulation.

Background: As the US population ages, many older adults with dementia rely on family caregivers for health-related care and daily activities. Issues associated with caregiver burden in this setting are well-documented, including caregivers’ diminished quality of life and health.
