Dr. Christi Barbee, AuD, CCC-A, F-AAA, is an associate professor at the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center, and has been involved in interprofessional activities since 2013, and has been providing and coordinating faculty training for campus IPE experiences. She has served as chair of the executive council for the Interprofessional Educators and Practitioners Association (IEPA), and chair and co-chair of the faculty development sub-committee of the IEPA. She has been a leader in interprofessional faculty development at OUHSC.

Background: Designed in 2021-2022 following attendance at the T3 Train-the-Trainer Interprofessional Team Development Program, the Program launched in Fall 2022 with an initial cohort of 15 participants. This included 12 faculty, 2 professional staff members, and one post-grad student. Participants came from three campus locations and represented 10 different professions ranging from nursing, to anthropology, library information sciences, allied health, pharmacy, public health, and medicine. Background: Aphasia affects at least 2,000,000 people in the United States and creates communication difficulties which affect quality of life for the person with aphasia, their communication partners, and their caregivers. Aphasia may be accompanied by changes in physical abilities and other mental abilities as well. Many of these patients have health needs after exhausting their benefits. Caregivers are at higher risk for not accessing needed services for themselves.
