Dr. Cheryl Goliath is the Executive Director for Medical Education Administration at Cleveland Clinic Akron General in Akron Ohio. Dr. Goliath received her PhD in Curricular and Instructional Studies from The University of Akron as well as a Master’s Degree in Instructional Technology and Adult Learning. Dr. Goliath has spent her career involved in Medical Education with a focus on community engagement and working closely with the Akron Public School system. She is on the Board of Project GRAD which is a non-profit educational reform program designed to provide students with a path to success. At Cleveland Clinic Akron General, she assists in the oversight of approximately 170 residents in 8 specialties and hundreds of medical students. With her background in Education, she brings an added perspective to Medical Education that has many clinical drivers. She is going to share with us today a project she led in Akron to improve Teaming at her institution.

In the NCICLE Pathways to Excellence, the National Collaborative for Improving the Clinical Learning Environment (NCICLE) notes optimal clinical learning environments (CLEs) are ones that support high-performance teaming. Yet there are many ways in which CLEs operationalize their approach to teaming. This session will preview several successful approaches identified through the recent NCICLE Teaming Resources Challenge.
