Caroline Simko is a fourth-year PharmD student in the Eugene Applebaum College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences at Wayne State University in Detroit, MI. She received a B.S. in Biomedical Sciences at the Fredrik Meijer Honors College at Grand Valley State University. Currently, she holds leadership positions in the Rho Chi Honor Society, Lambda Kappa Sigma, and as a class officer. Additionally, she is an intern at a local hospital providing transitions of care services for patients with congestive heart failure. She looks forward to continuing her longitudinal-APPE rotations and pursuing a PGY1 residency.

Lightning Talk Description: The lightning talk will discuss the design, implementation, and qualitative evaluation of an innovative interprofessional workshop that engages musicians with medical and pharmacy students. Musicians actively demonstrated nonverbal communication skills to participating students and provided them with tools to hone these skills in their patient care delivery and team interactions in preparation for collaborative practice.
