Dr. Abercrombie received her MD and completed a General Surgery Internship at Mercer University School of Medicine, where she also first served as faculty. She joined the ETSU Quillen College of Medicine faculty in 2011 and now serves as Senior Director of Experiential Learning and OSCE Director where she supports Quillen’s experiential laboratories and programs. Her passion for community is fulfilled through her position as the Director of Community Engagement for the Center of Interprofessional Collaboration and her involvement with the Office of Continuing Education for Health Professionals which lead her to connect community organizations and teams to provide education.

Lightning Talk Description: A large Academic Health Science Center faces unique challenges in meeting the accreditation needs of 5 colleges housing 18 different programs, subspecialties, and concentrations some of which have exclusively online learners. A longitudinal one-year IPE experience was developed to provide IPE to on-ground learners from 4 colleges: Clinical and Rehabilitative Health Sciences, Medicine, Nursing, Pharmacy, and Public Health. Identity Wheels are applied in areas of social justice and professional development of educators; however, little has been accomplished towards their application with interprofessional teams.
