Dean Pereira, Graduate College, joined OUHSC in 1992, became a full professor in Pathology, later appointed Professor of Pharmaceutical Sciences. Previously served as Associate Dean for Research, College of Pharmacy, and was named the David L. Boren Professor, OU’s highest honor. She received her PhD from the University of Melbourne, Australia and postdoctoral training from Emory University in Atlanta. Research focus: bioactive peptides based on an immune system molecule, CAP37. She was named a fellow by AAAS (American Association for the Advancement of Science), is renowned in antibiotics and anti-inflammatory therapeutics, holds several patents and is a Fellow of the National Academy of Inventors.
