Dr. Anita Van Wingerden - Assistant Professor at Rutgers University, School of Health Professions, Doctor of Physical Therapy Program. In 2019, she co-developed the Rutgers Osteoporosis/Fall Risk Screening Event, an interprofessional education and immersive experience for students with pharmacy and nursing faculty. She is Chair of the New Jersey Interagency Council on Osteoporosis for the State of New Jersey, Department of Health, and is dedicated to promoting interprofessional education and community awareness of bone health and fall risk. Her research focus is promoting wellness in older adults through community Ai Chi programs and preventing Osteoporosis/Fall Risk through aquatic exercise.

Interprofessional Student Poster Description: Background: Osteoporosis is a preventable metabolic bone disease that increases the risk of debilitating falls and fractures. Early screening is important to identify people at risk for osteoporosis and falls.
