I am a nurse and 3rd year PhD student in the University of Minnesota School of Nursing. While my background is in acute care, my research interests are focused on community health, and specifically community health workers. Overall, my goals are to examine how healthcare institutions are striving to meet health equity goals in the current environment of profound health disparity, explore the knowledge that communities hold regarding their own needs and strengths, and investigate what might bridge these two cultural contexts.

Lightning Talk Description: Each year, the CLARION Case Competition engages learners from across the country in interprofessional, team-based problem solving around an issue in healthcare practice and systems. The CLARION Board is a University of Minnesota student leadership group, supported by the Center for Health Interprofessional Programs(CHIP), that has guided and implemented the competition for over 20 years.
