Alyssa has been working at MedStar Georgetown University Hospital for 5 years as an inpatient acute care physical therapist. She specializes in the neurological setting, including vestibular and stroke patient populations. Alyssa focuses on critically ill patients and has helped update the early mobilization guidelines for the medical and surgical intensive care units. This includes conducting education sessions to resident physicians regarding therapy roles and mentoring newer clinicians to maximize patient safety and best practice. In her free time, Alyssa loves to spend time outdoors, including running and biking along the waterfront and exploring the countryside with friends and family.

Description: Palliative care and rehabilitation professionals have aligned goals and share a philosophy of person/family centered, holistic care that incorporates physical, psychosocial, and spiritual domains yet models of interprofessional collaborative practice are sparse.
